Yes!

Back in the day, festgrrl was absolutely bowled over by the British psychedelic/jazz rock band Yes. Their intricate arrangements, catchy hooks, soaring vocals, and obvious mad talent was intoxicating. I was lucky to see their mind-blowing live show 4 times during my teen and young adulthood.

Well, Yes -- at least a reconstituted Yes --  is coming to Florida for three dates in July. Unfortunately, the original kick-ass lead vocalist Jon Anderson is no longer with the band; instead lead vocals are handled by Benoit David, a sound-alike singer from a Canadian Yes tribute band. David took over those duties several years ago when Anderson was ill. (Since recovered, Anderson tours on his own and with former Yes alum Rick Wakeman.)

Yes plays with Procol Harem in Boca Raton's Mizner Park Ampitheater July 27; St. Augustine Ampitheater July 28, St. Pete's Ruth Eckerd Hall (air conditioned and indoors!) July 29. More info on those shows here.

I was at this show -- the stage spun around 360 degrees!
