festgrrl is all about the Punch Brothers, the amazing virtuoso string players assembled by mandolin phenom Chris Thile (fomerly of the bluegrass band Nickel Creek.) The Punch Brothers say they aren't a bluegrass band, and they aren't really. More like jazz grass, but that description doesn't really cut it either. What they are is insanely talented. I highly recommend their 2010 release, Antifogmatic. I can't stop listening to it.
They hit Orlando's Plaza Theater March 31 and Jacksonville's Florida Theater April 1.
They will also be playing New Orleans JazzFest on May 8.
